BCC’s Breaking Ground

Remember when we told you we’d be posting about interesting and exciting projects we learned about at SUNY Day 2012? Well this is one of those posts!

My fellow interns and I got the opportunity to speak with two lovely representatives at the Broome Community College table who had many positive projects currently going on to share with us.

One that stuck out to us is the amazing literary magazine, Breaking Ground, being produced on campus through student, faculty, administrator, staff, and alumni submissions. It has previously won a gold award in the international creative competition, the MarCom Awards.

The 2011 spring edition we received was filled with inspiring and incredible poems, photography, fiction, creative non-fiction, memoirs and artwork. Student submissions compete and are judged for first, second, and honorable mention prizes.

Submissions are currently being accepted until March 14th for the spring 2012 issue and you can find out more information on the magazine’s website.

Lucky for you, we have three copies to give away so you can induldge in this amazing literature. All you have to do is leave a comment on the blog, a like on Facebook, or a retweet on Twitter to be entered to win!
