Five SUNY campuses have been ranked by Kiplinger’s Personal Finance for 2014 for their value and size. Kiplinger’s ranks four campuses among the United States’ 25 Best College Values Under $30,000 a Year for 2014 and SUNY Purchase College in the nation’s 30 Best Values in Small Colleges for 2014, both honors for the nation’s largest comprehensive system of higher education and further evidence that SUNY campuses are leading the nation in adapting their students for the 21st Century global and competitive economy.
These 2014 rankings are a perfect compliment to the innovative Open SUNY program. Open SUNY, a collection of online programs that empowers students to take classes away from campus–thus, completing college faster and by spending less–is the largest public education online class collection ever created.
“SUNY is proud to offer a world-class higher education at a price that students and their families can afford,” said SUNY Chancellor Nancy L. Zimpher. “Congratulations to the campuses on this much-deserved recognition, which is an affirmation of its outstanding quality and a reflection of our system-wide commitments to access and affordability.”
64 SUNY campuses across New York State offer an incredibly wide range of academic programs, from computer science and physics in the Niagara Falls Region to a Hotels, Restaurant, and Tourism major in the North Country, to political science and chemistry in Albany, to fashion, arts, and culinary arts in the greater New York City area.
In total, over 5,000 unique programs offer students an opportunity to truly pursue their interests and the SUNY system of colleges and universities promise a seamless transfer of general education credits between campuses if those interests ever shift or expand, as they do for thousands of students every single semester.
The lists of Best Colleges for Value, Size follow Kiplinger’s ranking of 9 SUNY Campuses in the Top 100 Best Values in Public Colleges for 2014.
