- Where are you from?
Born in the woods of our centrally located suburban 604-acre campus on Long Island.
- How many teams do you represent?
I bleed green for all 13 varsity sports that are members of the Skyline Conference.
- How were you chosen to be school mascot?
2008 during the opening ceremony for the inaugural Panther Pride Week and consider myself as a spirit leader and goodwill ambassador for the SUNY College at Old Westbury. My name was selected during a campus-wide “Name Your Panther” contest. If you break down my name you have OW-WIN.
- Do you have any friends that are mascots?
Without a doubt! I’ve met mascots throughout the Skyline Conference but have bonded the most with Stony Brook’s Wolfie! We got a chance to hang out at the 2011 SUNY Showcase for an extended amount of time.
- What is your favorite campus event?
Panther Pride Homecoming, Old Westbury’s annual celebration designed to unite the entire college community.
- What is your favorite New York State destination?
SUNY College at Old Westbury! I have 604 acres to roam around on campus in a quiet atmosphere.
- What is your favorite Broadway play?
Cats.
- What do you consider the ideal fan?
The ideal fans are the ones who show their Panther Pride, even when we are not in the heat of competition. I get excited every time I see Old Westbury gear being worn as I prowl around campus and around town. Then, when our student-athletes are giving their best effort, there is nothing better than seeing our fans respond, making their presence known and always being there for our teams.
- What’s it like to be a mascot?
It’s not easy, but it’s definitely a lot of fun. It takes practice, a big personality and getting used to, especially dealing with the hot and cold climates. Having our cheerleaders around me is always an added bonus.
- What do you like to do for fun?
Interact with Panther Nation! Roam around campus on game day and add another element to our fan base.
