It was a fun-filled afternoon in November when the Schenectady County Community College Student Volunteer Organization (SVO) visited Girls Inc. in Schenectady for arts and crafts, games and a surprise pizza party.
The youngsters and SUNY SCCC students created works of art with shells supplied by Professor Renee Adamany, who is the Co-Advisor to the Club, along with Associate Professor Mark Seth. She collected them this summer on the Jersey shore and saved them for a special occasion just like this one. SUNY SCCC students enjoyed working with the youngsters on their projects and praised them for their artwork.
Throughout the year, the SVO connects with our community in other ways, including serving dinner at the City Mission of Schenectady, collecting donations for the YWCA of Schenectady, adopting a family for the holidays and participating in the Schenectady County Adoption Day by providing refreshments and making cards for each adoptive family.
