  1. Where are you from?
I am from the deepest, darkest caves of Earth, close to the core.
  2. How many teams do you represent?
My fire burns for 21 teams.
  3. How were you chosen to be the school mascot?
I chose Oneonta because of its passion for competition.
  4. Do you have any friends that are mascots?
No friends, only rivals, who eventually succumb to my flames of victory.
  5. What is your favorite campus event?
“Battle of the Red Dragons” where we meet our rivals from SUNY Cortland.
  6. What is your favorite food?
    Anything charred and black!
  7. What is your favorite television or movie animal?
    Puff, the Magic Dragon.
  8. What do you like to do for fun?
Having bonfires to celebrate our victories!
  9. What’s it like to be a mascot?
It’s awesome!  It allows me to use my strength and power to elevate my student athletes to heights beyond their imagination.
  10. What do you consider the ideal fan?
Anyone who burns inside for SUNY Oneonta!
  1. Where are you from?
I came from me Mum’s pouch of course. When I first peaked out, I was a little afraid because it’s very cold in Canton, and very warm in the pouch. But I got used to it, and now that I have a full body of warm fur, I find the winters quite comfortable. #OutOfThePouch #StayOffOfTheCouch
  2. How many teams do you represent?
I’m the head mascot for all 14 varsity teams. That’s a big responsibility for just one Roo. But I love it. I also make a lot of appearances at other school functions, parades, senior citizen dances, fashion shows, MENSA meetings, runway walks, photo shoots, etc… #AllOverTown #HappyEarToTail
  3. How were you chosen to be school mascot?
I’d like to think they picked me because of my boyish good looks and charm, but I’m told it’s because kangaroos are fiercely competitive and can only move forward. We can’t move backward, and this school is all about progress. Maybe the looks and charm were pleasant bonuses. Plus, aren’t there already enough birds, bears and bulldogs? #NoOffenseFeatheredFriends #MascotDiversityImportant #ShoutOutToSyracuseOrangeman
  4. Do you have any friends that are mascots?
I don’t know too many other mascots because I’m a stay-at-home kind of Roo. But I’m getting to know the Bear over at SUNY Potsdam a little better now that we’re focusing on shared services. We’ve made a couple of appearances together. Seems like a nice guy, and he has a suh-weet coat of fur on him. I would someday like to meet the Syracuse mascot – Otto the Orange, even though he’s a DI dude. #NiceFurForAnOrange #OttoMagic #OrangeWearsAHat
  5. What is your favorite campus event?
First game of the year. Doesn’t matter which sport. I just love getting out there for the excitement of the start of a new season. New students. Competition. It’s energizing. #PumpedUpRightNow #StartTheMusic #TossMeABall
  6. What is your favorite food?
I like almost everything they serve at Joey’s – the concession stand at Roos games. Mostly I like the chocolate chip cookies, popcorn or pretzels. You know, game food. Kangaroos are Herby Vores, so I don’t eat the hot dogs or hamburgers.
  7. What is your favorite television or movie animal?
I love the little Chihuahua in the Taco Bell commercials. We’ve got a Taco Bell on campus. ("¡Yo quiero Taco Bell!") Those commercials combine two of my favorite things: tacos and puppies. A close second has to be the Geico Gecko (he’s feisty with a great tail.) Other famous animals I really like include the Free Willy whale, Marcel the monkey on Friends, the little dog on Fraser, and the pig in Babe.
  8. What do you like to do for fun?
The obvious best thing is attending Roos games, but I also like chillin at the library, Tweetn up friends (@RoodyFromCanton), finding homes for stray cats and dogs, assisting the elderly at crosswalks, anything Student Activities hosts, Starbucks on campus at Cyber Café, helping babies stop crying, working out at Roos House, sledding on campus…a lot of things. In my spare time I work at restoring faith in humanity.
  9. What’s it like to be a mascot?
I love hopping around, meeting people. It’s tough sometimes being recognized everywhere I go around town though. I do have a tendency to draw attention to myself. But sometimes I have to pinch myself that I get to attend all these games and people cheer for me and have so much fun.
  10. What do you consider the ideal fan?
Anybody who loudly supports the Roos, but doesn’t pull on my tail. That’s my biggest human peeve: the tail tuggers. Grrrrr. You don’t tug on Superman’s cape. You don’t spit in the wind. You shouldn’t pull a Roos tail.
