  1. Where are you from?
I’m from a few different places. I’m a peregrine falcon, and since “peregrine” means “wanderer,” I call a few different locales home. Poughkeepsie, NY has suited my fancy for the past few decades, though.
  2. How many teams to you represent?
Seven – Men’s Soccer, Baseball and Basketball; Women’s Softball, Basketball and Volleyball, and co-ed Cross Country.
  3. How were you chosen to be school mascot?
Some breeds of falcon are indigenous to the east coast. That, and a chickadee wouldn’t really exude the predatory qualities that can instill fear in our opponents.
  4. Do you have any friends that are mascots?
I hung out with the Carolina Panther for a while, but he tried to eat me, so now we’re just Facebook friends.
  5. What is your favorite campus event?
There are many that I like, but if I have to pick one, I’d say it’s the Fall Club Fair. I can soar down the main campus walkway and check out all of the activities and clubs available. I also love to see my photo on the signs, too. I tried to sign up for a few clubs one year, but it appears there’s some ridiculous requirement that you have to be a human being to join. Go figure.
  6. What do you consider to be the ideal fan?
I like heavy attendance at school sporting events. A Falcon tattoo would be ideal, but not necessary.
  7. What’s it like to be a mascot?
It’s OK, but sometimes it gets a little too familiar being hung around somebody’s neck all the time, in fact, I … Wait … oh … Mascot. I thought you said ascot. Well, being a mascot is cool. I love the attention. It’s the perfect job for me, so much more fitting than actually playing on one of the teams. I tried to play basketball once, but my talons punctured the ball and we had to forfeit.
  8. What do you like to do for fun?
Flying can get boring after a while, so during my time off I like to drive Formula 1 race cars.
  9. What is your favorite Broadway play?
I like “Jersey Boys,” even after my unsuccessful audition for the role of Frankie Valli. The producer said my screech wasn’t high enough.
  10. What is your favorite New York State destination?
I love the Hudson Valley. I like visiting the Walkway Over the Hudson, the Home of Franklin D. Roosevelt National Historic Site and the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome, among many other sites.
