Seven SUNY campuses have been ranked among the nation’s best online degree programs by U.S. News and World Report for 2014, including SUNY Delhi ranked the best online bachelor’s degree program in the United States. The strong rankings come ahead of the rollout of Open SUNY, the 64-campus-wide online education center that represents more students than any other online learning network.
The categories that seven campuses captured recognition for excellence in are Online Bachelor’s Degree Programs, Online Graduate Business Programs, Online Graduate Education Programs, and Online Graduate Nursing Programs. The methodology to determine the U.S. News and World Report rankings, including that of which has ranked SUNY Delhi the best college in the nation to earn a bachelor’s degree online from, consists of student engagement rates, faculty credentials and training, and support services and technology. In addition, peer reputation was factored into each program’s score this year–a factor that U.S. News says is important to potential employers, especially in online education.
“SUNY is focused on educating more New Yorkers and educating them better than ever before, and increased access to the online courses offered across SUNY is one way we are achieving these goals,” said SUNY Chancellor Zimpher. “As we continue toward the introduction of Open SUNY, the system’s comprehensive delivery of online education for all students, each campuses’ experience and leadership will be a critical component. Congratulations to all of the faculty and staff on campus who contribute to success in online learning.”
