Buffalo State celebrated the inauguration of Dr. Katherine Conway-Turner as its 9th president through a series of events and celebrations in October 2014. A Day in the Life of Service: Buffalo State Community Service Day brought together 450 students, faculty, and staff along with Dr. Conway-Turner and her family on Saturday October 18, 2014 to commemorate Dr. Conway-Turner’s commitment to service and social responsibility. Twenty community groups and organizations partnered with Buffalo State and volunteers painted community centers, worked in urban farms and gardens, conducted literacy activities with children, and assisted with various other projects in throughout the city of Buffalo.
