With the start of the fall semester underway, prospective students are deciding where to continue their educational journey. To help families make that decision, the 2022 U.S. News & World Report’s Best College Rankings list has been released. More than 20 SUNY colleges and universities are named among the best colleges in New York, for veterans, and for the value.
The Best Colleges ranking, now in its 37th year, compares nearly 1,500 degree-granting institutions throughout the U.S. on 17 measures of academic quality. The methodology for creating the lists uses specific statistics in topics such as average success rates, student-faculty ratios, financial aid, figures on post-graduate employment, and more. The ranking factors are broken down as follows: Graduation and Retention Rates (22%), Social Mobility (5%), Graduation Rate Performance (8%), Undergraduate Academic Reputation (20%), Faculty Resources (20%), Student Selectivity (7%), Financial Resources for Students (10%), Alumni Giving Rates, (3%), Graduate Debt (5%).
