On March 18, 2015 Psi Chi (international honor society in psychology) and the Psychology Club at Farmingdale State teamed together and traveled to Little Flower Children and Family Services* to spend the afternoon baking cookies with the children. During our time together, we learned a great deal of information from these children. When we arrived, we thought we would be teaching and inspiring them to “do good” and to follow their dreams. Little did we know that we were the ones who would be inspired by the children. On December 6, 2015 the Psychology club will visit Little Flower again to spend more time with the Children.
Former student Maureen Goodman said it best, “From becoming covered in cookie dough, chocolate and flour, watching creativity at its finest with the decorations of various monster cookies and such, and then ending it with an amazing heart-to-heart with a boy I will always remember – today taught us many things.”
