SUNY Canton students try to keep the spirit of the season in them all year long. A highlight of this effort was the Giving Tree held recently on campus. The Student Government at SUNY Canton organized an effort to collect presents and gifts for needy children in the surrounding areas as a way of bringing the campus community into the “spirit of the season.” Student Government Association Budget Director Fatizjah Burnett, an industrial technology major from Brooklyn, helped SUNY Canton President Zvi Szafran collect and package nearly 100 gifts collected through the college’s Giving Tree efforts. The gifts will be distributed to area youth by the Canton Church and Community Program during the holiday season. From games to toys to crafts, there was something gathered for every child.
