Online learning is well-established as a valuable path to college completion. Many students seeking to further their careers via a college education and degree find the ability to both work and study on a schedule that suits them a beneficial way forward. And the online learning opportunities offered at SUNY stand with the best in the country.
U.S. News and World Report has once again compiled their official rankings of the “2017 Best Online Programs.” Not surprisingly, there were multiple SUNY schools which appeared on the lists. These rankings are subdivided into several categories, including Best Bachelors, MBA, and Graduate Education Programs, among others.
In order to compile these ranking lists, U.S. News and World Report’s methodology is based on four general categories – student engagement, faculty credentials and training, student services and technology, and peer reputation. To gather information on these criteria, questionnaires were sent to accredited institutions that offered degrees in the program category being evaluated. The data collected from these surveys was then calculated and scaled between zero and 100.
The continued growth of Open SUNY and the online learning opportunities available at SUNY show us why these rankings are well earned. With more than 500 online programs offered and more than 20,000 online sections available, there is an online learning opportunity for everyone at SUNY.
