Hello, my name is Zach Percy from Niskayuna, NY. I am one of the new interns for this summer here at SUNY. I will be a junior this upcoming fall semester at SUNY New Paltz, where I am a double major in Digital Media Management and Production with a minor in English. It’s great to be home for the summer and able to incorporate my studies into my work this summer.
At New Paltz I stay busy with my schoolwork, but I also participate in the biannual campus film festival, Film48, where participants are given 48 hours to create a short film on a topic given to them at the event kickoff. To make things even more interesting, each team is required to include a specific name, prop, and line of dialogue. You can watch one of my entries from the 2017 festival in the genre of “crime”, titled Kidnapped! A Chauncey Williams Story, below:
When I am not hunched over in front of a computer screen editing or writing, I like to be outside wandering along one of New Paltz’s many hiking trails. New Paltz, being situated right near the Catskills, has beautiful scenery all around for you to explore, providing a great release from the stress of finals!
I am looking forward to working here at SUNY and sharing all the system has to offer. There are so many great things happening around the state that I can’t wait to share with you. After graduation, I hope to pursue opportunities in media production with a focus on writing because I find it important to work with something that you love.
