Giving is not just about making a donation- it is about making a difference.
Westchester Community College student support services, faculty, staff and community members gathered November 25th in the Student Center Events Room to make a tremendous difference in the lives of 250 students and families in need. WCC’s Student Support Services helped by sharing resources, connecting with community, and encouraging a campus culture of giving by serving during their annual event. Community partners ShopRite, DeCicco & Sons, and Westchester Community College Foundation came together with the faculty and staff to put on this successful event.
The annual Thanksgiving Take-Home Dinner included one 15-20 lb. turkey with all the Thanksgiving Day fixings. Students left with full hearts, as they wobbled away with their overflowing bags of generosity and a pay-it-forward attitude.
Across SUNY, students, faculty and administration alike are coming together to in the spirit of charity and togetherness. 30 Days of Giving is our annual tradition, which starts on Thanksgiving every year, where we reflect on efforts of the past year and highlight some of the selfless acts of that members of the SUNY community are leading.
