One of the most recognized college rankings list is back with its latest edition as U.S. News & World Report has published its 2024 edition of their Best Colleges ranking lists.
Studies and statistics show that earning a college degree can have profound impacts on your life. It can effect your career opportunities, your income potential, and your quality of life. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employed individuals with bachelor’s degrees had 68% more weekly income than those with just a high school diploma. That number increases even more when you compare earnings of those with master’s, doctoral or professional degrees.
This year, U.S. News evaluated nearly 1,500 U.S. four-year bachelor’s degree-granting institutions on as many as 19 measures. The methodology, although quite similar to the past, has also changed to measure modern standards of quality and success. This year’s rankings focused much more on student outcomes, with an increased emphasis on “how often schools’ students from all socioeconomic backgrounds earned degrees and took advantage of information on graduate outcomes that was not available until recently.”
With all those qualities taken into account, it’s no surprise that a large number of SUNY schools were ranked in this year’s edition of the Best Colleges rankings. See how our SUNY schools were ranked in a number of categories in this year’s lists below:
