A radiologic technologist’s job is to work with patients to find what physical ailment is causing them pain. The SUNY Broome Radiology Club takes things a step further for students, working to find volunteer activities within the community while promoting the field.
This October, the SUNY Broome Radiology Club put on their pink and hit the pavement to raise funds and awareness during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
This was the first year that the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk was held at neighboring Otsiningo Park in the city of Binghamton. Hundreds of people joined the event that helped fund groundbreaking breast cancer research and provide patient services like free rides to chemotherapy sessions, free places to stay near treatment services, and a live 24/7 cancer helpline.
This amazing group of students and faculty raised nearly $800 for the cause.
