For the month of March, Edinburgh Napier University is honoring the world-renowned photographer, alumnus David Eustace, with an international photography competition titled “Highland Heart”.
Eustace attended Edinburgh Napier University at the age of 28 and received his 3-year Bachelor of Arts degree. A month shy of graduation, he was already working for GQ magazine, having 4 covers by the end of that year. His client list has since then expanded to Vogue, Telegraph, and Panasonic just to name a few. Although largely associated with portraiture, his works also include fashion, documentary, and landscape.
Creative director of Anthropologie, Trevor Lunn, approached the photographer to create a project to launch the company’s art based multi-media site. The resulting portfolio, “In Search of Eustace”, had a great success which lead to his newest portfolio, “Highland Heart”. For this portfolio, Eustace returned to his homeland of Scotland where he made an array of landscapes in the Scottish Highlands.
The Highland Heart competition is accepting entries tagged as “#HighlandHeart @EdinburghNapier” via the university’s Instagram, Facebook and Twitter profiles until Tuesday, April 2. The winner will be notified through a comment on their submission by 5PM EST on Wednesday, April 3. Prizes include a signed photo print from David Eustace himself worth $750.00 or a Panasonic Lumix DX7 camera worth $499.99.
