The 2013 convening of the Critical Issues in Higher Education conference series comes to a conclusion today. This year’s topic was Building a Smarter University: Big Data, Innovation and Ingenuity. Conference attendees in New York City were able to discuss and participate in sessions that looked into improving the student learning experience, enhancing the research enterprise, supporting effective community outreach, strengthening the education pipeline and advancing the university infrastructure.
As a small input into the expanding world of generated data, we’ve created a Storify that captures some of the events and interactions from this year’s conference, including Keynote Speaker Harper Reed’s speech, plenary sessions, and more in-depth discussion that helped to illustrate the use of big data to build a smarter university.
So, see how big data is transforming our world and how the conference has elevated a conversation, spurred innovative thinking, and begun to build a data-driven university!
