A man proposed to his girlfriend this January using lights on a high-rise residence hall at the University at Buffalo. The photograph was posted online January 8, saying, “My bestfriend proposed to his girlfriend last week with a 10-story college dormitory.” As of Friday midday, the picture had over 430,000 views on imgur and nearly 4,000 up-votes on reddit.
As it turns out, the couple met at the University at Buffalo. The man, Frank, proposed to his girlfriend, Katelyn, in the dark so that the lights of the residence hall popped the question. Frank is the Residence Hall Director of Goodyear Hall, a ten-story dormitory that houses some of the 30,000 students enrolled in the SUNY system’s largest university.
Both Frank and Katelyn are SUNY graduates; he received his a Masters in Inclusive Childhood Education from SUNY Fredonia and she initially graduated from Jamestown Community College with a Math/Science Associates Degree. She went on to receive her bachelors from SUNY Geneseo in Communications.
She said “yes”.
