My name is Lesley Adewunmi and I’m the graduate student assistant with the Office of New Media at SUNY System Administration. I’ll be finishing up my Master of Public Administration degree at the University at Albany’s Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy this semester, and graduating with concentrations in Information Strategy and Management, and Nonprofit Management. I’m really looking forward to working with the Office of New Media to help improve SUNY’s social media and digital presence.
Before joining the team here, I worked for the New York State Legislature for three years as a communications researcher and higher education policy analyst for the State Assembly. Higher education and access to learning are topics that I’m incredibly passionate about and I’m excited to have the opportunity to look at higher ed from a different perspective through working here at SUNY System Administration.
As a public administration student, I have a strong interest in public policy and non-profit management. But over the past few years, I’ve also developed a passion for photography and graphic design. I aspire to combine these interests and be able to utilize them in a role that’ll allow me to serve the public sector by utilizing my creative skills. I’m so thrilled to be working with the Office of New Media because it allows me to do just that! I’m looking forward to engaging with SUNY students via social media, disseminating important and interesting information to you all through our blog, and assisting SUNY with creative solutions to bring attention to the university’s great work.
In my spare time, I love photographing portraits, weddings, and my various travels. I run a photography blog where I share my latest projects and favorite images that I’ve taken. I also am an avid traveler and have made a travel-resolution to visit France, Indonesia, and Nigeria this year (wish me luck!). You can find me on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and on my website www.lesleyade.com
