Multiple SUNY campuses’ graduate schools have been honored for their superior graduate programs by being named to U.S. News and World Reports’ 2015 Best Graduate Schools Rankings. The rankings, released in March, highlight over 1,300 programs across the nation, with many SUNY schools recognized in the top 100 of 11 disciplines and many others in the full list.
According to U.S. News, rankings in the main disciplines for the 2015 Best Graduate Schools are evaluated on standardized test scores of newly enrolled students, opinions from experts on each program’s quality, acceptance rates and other criteria. Because each graduate program is different, the rankings methodology varies across disciplines.
In a 2012 report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics that analyzed projected job growth between 2010 and 2020, research showed that “The fastest growth is projected in occupations assigned to the master’s degree level; these occupations are projected to grow by 21.7 percent.” As a global leader in graduate education, SUNY offers programs at 27 unique locations across New York, making graduate education easily accessible and offering more opportunity for students to complete the steps to a bigger degree.
