Following an impressive run up to the College World Series, Stony Brook’s Seawolves are being honored tonight at Citi Field by the New York Mets. During the 7:10 game tonight against the Baltimore Orioles NCBWA Coach of the Year Matt Senk and the Seawolves baseball team seniors will throw out the first pitch of the game.
Before the game, players will have the opportunity to meet the Mets during batting practice at Citi Field.
The 2012 season has been the most successful season the Seawolves’ program has seen. The team set a program record and led the NCAA with 52 wins. In the post-season, they went on to defeat Miami, Missouri State and Central Florida in the NCAA Regional and LSU in the NCAA Super Regional to reach its first-ever College World Series.
Stony Brook received unprecedented exposure for its College World Series run around the country, including captivating the host city of Omaha, which embraced the Seawolves as their hometown team.
