Hi, everyone! I’m Emily, the new Shared Services intern here at SUNY System Administration.
One thing you should know about me – SUNY holds a special place in my heart. I am an MPA student in the Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy at SUNY Albany and am studying public finance and economics. Prior to enrolling in Rockefeller College, I attended the University at Buffalo for 2 years, have an A.A.S in Criminal Justice from Hudson Valley Community College, and have a B.A. in Criminal Justice with a minor in English from SUNY Albany. As an undergrad, I was involved in the Moot Court program at Albany and worked as a student assistant at a state agency. Even though I’ve attended all SUNY schools, I’m learning a lot about what SUNY has to offer from a different point of view.
Now that I’ve introduced myself, you may be thinking “Haven’t I heard a lot about shared services in the news?” Well, you’re right. You have heard a lot about shared services, not just from SUNY, but governments, hospitals, and other organizations. Part of my job here at SUNY is to help investigate the benefits of various shared services opportunities among the 64 campuses and how to implement these changes in a smooth and seamless fashion.
You’re going to hear more about the transition to shared services on here from me, so my goal is to demystify the process for all of you. I’ll also be working with Megan and Becky sharing stories about our diverse and talented SUNY community. I’m very enthusiastic about being here and am eager to hear what you have to say, so make sure to follow us on GenerationSUNY!
