Hi everyone, I’m Megan, the newest social media intern for GenerationSUNY. I am a senior at UAlbany and originally from Fairport, NY right outside of Rochester.
I’d like to take this opportunity to introduce myself on the blog so that you can get to know the girl behind the tweets and Facebook posts updating you on everything SUNY related. I am a communications major with minors in business and journalism. Writing is a passion of mine and what better way to share it then through the largest growing news sources, social media sites!
My duties as social media intern consist of scowering the internet for the most up to date SUNY related news from fun topics every student or SUNY alum can relate to, to the hard news topics that are affecting SUNY on a daily basis. There is so much behind the scenes work going on at the SUNY System Administration building that I never knew about and am so excited to learn about.
I am an active member of the SUNY Albany community and if you don’t run into me in class or here at SUNY System Administration, you may also find me working at the Alumni Association on campus networking with alums all over the country or co-coordinating a DANEger Zone event for our D1 athletics teams. I am a co-chair of a Relay For Life committee on campus too so I’m always busy with UAlbany related events.
This internship is an amazing opportunity and I can’t wait to see all that I learn and discover throughout my time with GenerationSUNY. Keep your eyes open for all my tweets, Facebook posts, and blog articles throughout the semester. Im looking forward to all of for your reactions, responses, and questions!
Thank you everyone, glad you enjoyed it! Stay tuned for more to come
