Hi, my name is James Sanchez and I am the new graduate assistant for the Office of New Media at SUNY System Administration. I was born and raised in Washington Heights, New York City where I attended an all boys catholic high school by the name of Cardinal Hayes located in Bronx, NY. I then proceeded to attend the University at Albany in the fall of 2010. With hopes to pursue a degree in communication, play for a division 1 football team, and be close to home, I saw the University at Albany as the perfect fit for me. I was offered a great opportunity to attend UAlbany with the help of the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP), which provides students with economic difficulties financial aid support to pursue an education.
My experience at the University at Albany has been one like no other! From walking-on to the Division I football team and earning a scholarship, being a part of many organizations, exceeding academically, and most importantly earning a Bachelor degree in communication this past May. These achievements have served as motivational factors to continue to excel. Currently, I am enrolled in the BA/MA 5 year program which allowed me to take upon a graduate course last semester as an undergraduate. I am now a second semester graduate student in the field of organizational communication and will be completing my Masters degree next year.
I am looking forward to contributing my passion and assets to the New Media team and continue the great success it has had in the past!
