Now that fall is right around the corner the season for college visits, applications, and admissions is also upon us. Of course you can complete the different parts of the college application process separately, but it’s definitely a lot easier and more convenient to start them all at once. Where can you do such a thing? At a college fair of course! And you can especially do this at a SUNY College Fair, where you can come and interact with representatives from SUNY schools throughout New York State.
There are so many benefits to going to a SUNY College Fair, the first being that you have all of the various universities and colleges under one roof. SUNY is the largest public system of higher education in the country so there is a lot of information and resources to get familiar with. At the college fair you can do just that as you get a chance to walk around and learn about all of them, or just the ones you are interested in. You can ask the representatives of each school any questions you have or their opinions on any additional classes or tests you should take before applying. Plus, if you happen to really like one of the schools you’ve seen, you can learn about their upcoming open houses or tour days to see the campus in person.
SUNY’s goal according to Chancellor Nancy Zimpher is to “to expand education ACCESS, ensure degree COMPLETION, and support student SUCCESS.” This motto can also be seen in action at a SUNY College Fair where you have the ability to learn about what is needed during the application process, the opportunities awaiting you on campus, and the possibilities available upon receiving your degree. Of course you will also want information on how you are going to pay for your education at SUNY, which you can do through SUNY Smart Track, a collection of resources that are designed to help students and their families understand college costs and develop a financial plan.
At a SUNY College Fair you will be surrounded by people who can offer a wealth of useful information to help your decision in choosing the right path for college, hopefully in the very near future! Take a look at the list of upcoming college fairs below and be sure to register for one today!
