Students at Stony Brook University answered the call for volunteers with an overwhelming response at the Miracle League of Long Island event. The Miracle League of Long Island is a charitable organization that provides a baseball league for children with disabilities. This league is FREE to all players.
The baseball doubleheader, held at Stony Brook University’s Joe Nathan Field, offered nearly 40 people with disabilities a chance to develop their social skills and increase self-esteem. More than 175 Seawolf buddies volunteered to help protect the players from balls and assist them with batting and running the bases.
