It’s common that people find happiness in all sorts of ways on a college campus. After all, new friends and a new environment brings new social opportunity. We’ve dug through some statistics before and showed you how many couples met on a SUNY campus and got married. But some couples find themselves in these environments and just miss each other during their college experiences, instead crossing paths after graduation and beginning a journey in which they realize they shared location and access to the same facilities and groups of people. Some people just need time to grow before finding that match. We can now add a couple to this group, and in a fantastic way.
Tremaine Harris is the Assistant Director of Student Conduct in the office of Residential Life at the University at Albany. He received his master’s degree from UAlbany and went on to begin working there soon after. About two years ago, he met Randi Brice, another UAlbany alum who received her undergraduate degree from the school and was working near the campus at the NY State Office for Technology.
Having dated for two years, Tremaine was ready to approach the next step in commitment and do it in a big way. So he decided to arrange something at the University at Albany home football opener on Saturday, September 12. He wanted to arrange for Randi to be selected for a special halftime promotion in the “cash money machine.” But little did she know that it was just a ploy for a bigger thing. The rainy weather didn’t slow down the plans this day.
All of the festivities that followed were captured on video. See the magic happen below. We won’t spoil the surprise for you.
