Each October, Niagara County Community College Student Life and Niagara County Community College Athletics team up together to sponsor a flag football tournament for students that raises money for the American Cancer Society. Students can sign up to play with a $5 donation to the cause. Students can also help support the cause by purchasing an event t-shirt for $10. The event receives good participation from year to year, as there are nearly 60 participants each year and 20 volunteers.
This year, after a competitive match up on the field, NCCC raised over $500 for cancer research. After the tournament concluded, students were able to reflect on their efforts at a post-game bonfire and party with food trucks, entertainment, and music, which brought the spirit of community to NCCC.
