SUNY’s Alumni Day at the Ballpark on Monday, September 24 was a great success! Hundreds of SUNY alumni came together to share great memories and meet new faces amidst a reception before the Pirates faced the Mets at Citi Field.
The majority of the alumni came in full support of the hometown Mets, who in the first of four games in a row against the Pittsburgh club, came out on top, 6-2. The highlight of the game was when Ike Davis hit two home runs to help his ailing team finish the season strong. Read more about the game here.
But off the field, hundreds of proud, energetic SUNY grads got to participate in one of SUNY’s first university-wide alumni events. Some alums sported their alma mater, like the University at Albany and Geneseo. Others threw on a Mets shirt and a smile, not to be disappointed Monday night.
There’s good news for those who missed it, especially alum Adam Figuerora who wrote on Generation SUNY’s Facebook wall Tuesday morning following the event, “Upset I had to miss this.” SUNY’s Alumni Relations team is busy planning for the next big get-together.
