Taste and See The Bounty of New York With Us at the 2016 New York State Fair

The Great New York State Fair is an annual showcase of the best things that come from New York – whether they be food, farming, games, entertainment, and of course, education. The 2016 edition (from Aug 25 – Sept 5) will continue this tradition, and for the sixth year in a row, SUNY will have a presence at and throughout the fairgrounds.

This year, SUNY will be at the fair in two distinct ways. On, Thursday, September 1st we will host SUNY Day. Representatives will be on hand to chat with prospective and current students, alumni, and friends to learn all about the academic opportunities and impact that comes from our system of 64 campuses. Be sure to visit us to find out more about the benefits a SUNY education brings to you. And at the end of the day, you can stick around for a free concert by Flo-Rida at Chevy Court that will be brought to you by SUNY.

In addition, SUNY is proud to support the all-new publicly available WiFi signal available to all visitors throughout the duration of the fair. Now, from anywhere inside the fairgrounds, visitors won’t have to depend on their data plan to keep in touch or learn more about the interesting things they saw and interacted with. They’ll be able to use our free WiFi to share the photos, videos, and posts of their Fair experience.

Of course, it’s not just about the System presence on September 1 – campuses from the region will also have a presence throughout the fair. Visitors can see Upstate Medical University, Morrisville State College, SUNY Cobleskill, and Cornell NYS College of Agriculture & Life Sciences.

Finally, the 2016 fair is showcasing a $50 million redevelopment project that improved the fairgrounds and turned it into a year-round, multi-use facility. From the all new entrance gate, to an new asphalt pad at the midway and all new storm drainage, there are improvements and modernization throughout the fairgrounds sure to make your visit more comfortable and fun.
