College rankings aren’t done yet. The annual U.S. News & World Report lists of Best Colleges and Universities in America has been released for 2018. These reports include approximately 50 different types of numerical rankings and categories, and is well known as being a highly reputable resource for students and their families.
For three decades, U.S. News & World Report has provided college rankings and advice to help students make life-changing decisions. To determine the rankings, U.S. News uses quantitative measures supported by education experts to measure important facets of the college experience, such as financial aid, graduation rate, feel of campus life, and new this year, postgraduate salary data for 1,000 schools.
Not only does U.S. News and World Report generate a Best National Universities list, but schools are also segmented by geographic region. This gives students good data as they consider whether they want to study close to home or far away. The different lists make sifting through information on over 1,800 colleges and universities easier to digest for anyone looking to pursue higher education.
“Each of SUNY’s 64 colleges and universities help our students find their purpose and their passion. Whether it’s in research, education, outreach, or engagement, our colleges and universities strive to achieve excellence in everything they do,” said SUNY Chancellor Kristina M. Johnson.
Dedication to serving students, supporting communities surrounding our campuses, and being academic innovators remain at the forefront of why SUNY schools are named best colleges year after year. This year, SUNY made an appearance on a number of different lists, showing the staying power of receiving an education through SUNY.
