The SUNY Oneonta campus community came together to help those in need by collecting non-perishable food items in honor of President Morris’ inauguration, bringing in 1,556 pounds of nonperishable food items. More than half was donated by students.
A fun “Yes We Can” promotion featured Campbell Soup-like advertising with collection bins styled as soup cans.
Sixty percent, (933.6 Pounds) of the proceeds went to Oneonta-area food pantries, and 40%, (622.4 Pounds) went to the campus food shelf at Hunt Union.
Nonperishable food items were collected at several college events such as the Employee Breakfast, Red Day, the Founders Day Picnic, Res Life Family Weekend carnival and the Sodexo 5K Hunger Run/Walk.
