Rockland Community College nursing students are providing COVID-19 tests at the RCC Field House for students and faculty as part of their clinicals. Not only are the students getting real-world experience, but they are providing an essential service in keeping our campus community safe during these trying times. These students show employees and students the steps they need to take in order to properly administer COVID-19 tests and are taught how to properly handle and transport the tests to be pooled. We are so thankful for our nursing students and the amazing work they are doing on campus and beyond.
In addition to the tests being conducted on campus, the nursing department also took time to deliver meals to essential personnel in Rockland County. Dr. Kathy Hopkins, Dean of the School of Nursing, Health, and Wellness, and Dr. Maureen Kroning, Nursing Program Director, delivered food to nursing staff at Montefiore Nyack, Good Samaritan, and Helen Hayes Hospitals as a token of appreciation for all they have done for our community during the COVID-19 pandemic. We are proud to be educational partners with such a caring group of dedicated professionals. A big thank you to Lulu’s Cafe in West Nyack prepared a delicious lunch and desserts for those essential workers, and the staff at RCC is forever grateful for their support.
Through all these efforts, the entire Rockland Community College community offers a sincere thank you to all essential workers who have helped our community through this trying time!
