It was announced today that Dr. Casey Crabill (KRAY-bill) will become the 8th President of Onondaga Community College. Dr. Crabill was unanimously selected by the Onondaga Community College Board of Trustees, and approved by the State University of New York Board of Trustees as required by State Education Law. Her term will begin July 1, 2013. She is presently serving as the President at Raritan Valley Community College (RVCC) in Branchburg, New Jersey, where she is completing her seventh academic year.
“Dr. Crabill is a talented administrator with nearly two decades of leadership experience in higher education and a proven ability to connect with students, faculty, and surrounding communities to uplift the colleges she has served,” said SUNY Chancellor Nancy L. Zimpher. “I am pleased to join the SUNY Board of Trustees and Onondaga campus in welcoming Dr. Crabill home to New York State and to the SUNY family.”
“On behalf of the Board of Trustees of Onondaga Community College, I am extremely pleased that our national search for Onondaga’s eighth President has culminated with the appointment of such a substantially experienced, dedicated and accomplished leader as Dr. Casey Crabill,” said Onondaga Board of Trustees Chair Allen J. Naples. “Dr. Crabill’s more than 15 years of experience as a community college president and 25 years in higher education, which began in the SUNY system, will be a tremendous asset to the College, its students, faculty and staff, and our entire community as we advance the institution’s ambitious Strategic Plan. The Board of Trustees is grateful to the search committee and the campus community for their efforts in reaching this very important milestone in College history.”
“I am very excited and honored to be selected to join the outstanding faculty and staff of Onondaga Community College and to serve as its next President. This highly regarded institution plays a central role in ensuring access to higher education, providing a well-prepared workforce, and growing a vibrant community. I look forward to building on its remarkable history,” said Casey Crabill, Ed.D.
