Since it was first celebrated in 1970, Earth Day has been organized around–and moved along by—university students. The convenient timing between colleges’ spring breaks and exam season helped to solidify the date as April 22nd! Following this tradition, every year SUNY campuses across the state celebrate Earth Day and our collective efforts to study and promote sustainability in their own way.
