SUNY Mascot Madness 2014 – Final Four

SUNY Mascot Madness 2014 Round 4Welcome to Round 4 in the Second Annual SUNY Mascot Madness! This is a competition where YOU can decide who is New York’s favorite campus mascot! This year’s contest includes a record 44 SUNY campuses representing more than 637 athletic teams and 350,000 students! Round 1 saw 44 mascots compete. In Round 4, the remaining 4 mascots will compete to see who makes it into the final round of the competition!

SUNY has more than 85 NCAA Division I, 290 NCAA Division III, and 385 NJCAA athletics teams, as well as hundreds of non-competitive athletics clubs. Our mascots work so hard cheering on every SUNY student athlete, so why not cheer them on? Last year, 100,000 voters cast their ballot to edge a win for SUNY New Paltz’s “Hugo” over Stony Brook University’s “Wolfie Seawolf” in the championship round. We’ve interviewed each competing mascot to learn a little more about them, like what their favorite New York State destination is and how they became a mascot in the first place. You’ll learn what it is that make these dedicated supporters of SUNY athletic teams, students and alumni tick.

Final Four:

BONUS: Every Facebook and Twitter “share” will add bonus points! Bonus totals will be updated once every two hours on the final day (Monday, March 31) and shown in RED below.

Remember to click over to read all of the interviews with our mascot participants. Each one of them tells us a bit about their personality, how they came to be a mascot at their campus, and some of their more interesting habits. Then, vote for your favorite personality in each match-up!

Voting is now closed.

I’m happy for Binghamton (I know a lot of people who go there including my sister) but this really wasn’t a fair fight. Binghamton has about 18,000 undergraduates while Cortland only has about 6,000 undergraduates.

  • cw says:

If the rules as stated were followed, that’s what should count.

    • ES says:

I believe the reason they added the fb and twitter votes was due to unexplainable numbers of votes. I believe someone figured out how to hack the system in earlier rounds

  • Zs says:

twitterbots….the reason why tweets and facebook posts shouldn’t count as bonus points…

    • Lexi says:

I agree with you, from the begining its been about vote for you favorite mascot…..not tweet about it p.s not everyone has a fb or twitter

    • Sarah says:

i agree! people are using twitterbots to “vote” and tweet over 1,000 times to get bonus points.

      • Emily says:

If you read, the tweets and facebook shares only give you extra points when someone clicks the link and votes through it. Then you get 1 point for the vote AND 1 extra bonus point.

  • Mercedes says:

Come on Brockport Eagles! I’m an alumni, I’m still voting and displaying pride.

  • Marcelle Stickles says:

Cannot vote on Game 2; the link is not working.

  • Bethbeez says:

    Go HUGO!! Go HUGO!!

  • Bethbeez says:

    Go HUGO! Go HUGO!!

  • Concerned Citizen says:

Please note that the hashtag “TeamHugo” is also being used to help poet Hugo Williams who needs a kidney transplant. I hope this will not affect the numbers.

    • Maxwell Morgan says:

Hashtags are used to display team pride; bonus points are added for interaction only, not hashtag frequency.
