As summer heads toward the finish line, students will soon be getting ready to get back to the books. Studying, researching, test prep… all of which will prepare us for the next step of applying to our dream college. It’s a process that can seem stressful and intense, but SUNY’s website and tools allow you to get through it with ease. How? With the online applySUNY portal.
New for the upcoming school year, the 2015 SUNY application is now available! The applySUNY portal allows you to complete an application for admission and submit any required supplemental applications all in one place.
To maximize all opportunities, we recommend that students apply early. Some colleges have set deadlines which you don’t want to risk missing. Others, like most SUNY colleges, review their applications on a rolling admissions basis. This means that applications will be continuously reviewed as they are received. However, once campuses or select academic programs are full, applications can no longer be accepted. If you are planning to apply using early action or early decision, keep in mind that those have set deadlines as well.
If you would like to get an idea of what the application is like prior to creating your applySUNY account online, you can check out our Application Worksheets. There is one available for the application, the supplemental application, and the EOP supplemental application. They are like a practice-run for the actual application. This allows you to check with a parent or school counselor regarding any question of which you may be unsure. The questions are listed in the same order as they appear online. Just remember you do not want to mail these practice applications – get back online and create an account to submit your real application.
