On the SUNY Orange campus, giving is about consistency. The “Adopt a Family” program, facilitated by staff across both campuses, has been lucky enough to provide a consistent helping hand during the holiday season for almost 20 years.
2023 has been no exception.
This holiday season, SUNY Orange celebrated its 19th year of giving through the “Adopt a Family” program. Since its inception in 2003, this program has allowed the school to serve a total of 949 families in their community and on the campuses by providing gifts and financial help to families who are less fortunate in different ways.
This year, the school adopted 30 families through Fearless, Horizons-Newburgh School District, and Presidential Park Elementary-Middletown School District. Additionally, 3 families were adopted from within the SUNY Orange community.
In all, the College raised a total of $3,630 for this year’s campaign. Overall, we were able to award a total of 33 families with $110 Walmart gift cards to provide necessary support during this holiday season.
