Who knew the easiest part of preparing for college could be the application process? For many people looking to go to college next year, applying to schools may seem daunting—writing essays, compiling resumes and gathering letters of recommendation can seem difficult enough without having to fill out several different applications.
Lucky for you, the process of applying to a SUNY school is super easy with applySUNY, the online application portal where you can submit an application for admission to a SUNY school along with your supplemental application all in one place. And to mark the beginning of college application season, the portal is now open for applications for the Spring and Fall 2017 semester.
applySUNY is especially useful for those who are interested in more than one SUNY campus. Want to apply to four different SUNY schools? Well, you don’t have to fill out the same information four times to apply to four campuses. With the online SUNY application, the whole process is quick and easy! And now for 2017 there are nearly 50 new degree programs available to choose from.
It’s never too early to start
Getting started early will have added benefits this year, as the Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) calendar has been adjusted for the 2017-18 school year. New for students this year, you will be able to file a federal financial aid application as early as Oct. 1, 2016, rather than beginning on Jan. 1, 2017. Now, students and parents can skip the guesswork and simply use their tax information from the past year on the FAFSA, rather than estimating how much aid they will need for the upcoming year.
