Creating New Pathways to Semiconductor Careers Across the Northeast and Tracking Our Regional Impact
The semiconductor industry is growing rapidly across the Northeast—and building the workforce to support that growth requires regional collaboration.
One of Four Across the Nation
From K–12 outreach and hands-on learning in cleanroom facilities across the region to curriculum development, credentials, workforce training, and industry engagement, NY Creates, SUNY, and its partners are building pathways into semiconductor careers.
Introducing the NNME Northeast Dashboard
The dashboard highlights:
- Outreach and engagement with students, communities, and future talent
- Education and training, including courses, modules, credentials, and other workforce development activities
- Industry partnerships and employer engagement, connecting education and training to real workforce needs
- Workforce development and career pathways, from awareness and education through training and employment
- Regional collaboration and network performance across our performers and partners
- Workforce transitions and outcomes, including movement into full-time semiconductor employment
- Performance metrics and measurable impacts that demonstrate progress toward NNME’s goals
As the program grows, the dashboard will provide a dynamic way to track performance, measure outcomes, identify gaps, demonstrate impact, and understand where the collective efforts are moving the needle for industry partners, workforce and education partners, SEMI, and the NNME Hub. The dashboard will also connect the work happening across individual institutions and communities to the larger Northeast semiconductor workforce ecosystem and the national effort to build a stronger, more connected semiconductor talent pipeline.

About NNME Northeast:
NNME Northeast is one of four regional nodes of the National Network for Microelectronics Education, a national workforce development initiative funded by the U.S. National Science Foundation in partnership with the U.S. Department of Commerce and aligned with the CHIPS and Science Act. SEMI serves as the national Hub, coordinating the four regional nodes, including NNME Northeast, which is led by NY Creates in partnership with SUNY System Administration and more than 90 regional partners. The Northeast node is supported by up to $20 million in federal funding over five years, along with $900,000 from Empire State Development for New York workforce development initiatives.
