With over 467,000 students, SUNY consistently takes advantage of the opportunity it has to be a significant impact in communities across New York State. The 30 Days of Giving campaign is a great way to recognize students and community partners involved in the many projects that happen all year round at each SUNY campus and their surrounding communities. The byproduct of taking volunteerism to scale is not only building character in our students themselves as they join our over three million alumni, but also to set an example of impact as the nation’s largest university system.
Cayuga Community College
Americorps is an internship programs which provides levitra next day delivery hands- on learning for student as Cayuga Community College. The program is intended to help fosters civic engagement among college students while encouraging positive relationships between campuses and communities. This past year Americorps students have collectively logged more than 8,000 hours of community service.
Kim Wise, is one of the 47 enrolled Americorps volunteers at CCC, she spends her time helping elderly residents at the Finger Lakes Center for Living. While Earl Heath, another CCC Americorps volunteer works at the Owasco Lake public boat launch educating boaters about invasive species in the Finger Lakes.
“We’re so happy to be part of this Americorps program because it engages our students in hands-on projects that address a meaningful community need and foster their sense of civic responsibility,” said Professor Sheila Myers.
